70: Impeach The President

Well, it's probably too late to do anything about the actual president right now. So instead here's the song by The Honeydrippers and four others that use its often-sampled beat.

2. Nice & Smooth - Funky For You
3. EPMD - Total Kaos
4. De La Soul - Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)

68: 2:42

In an article for The Morning News, Joshua Allen did a little "research" to determine that 2 minutes and 42 seconds is the ideal song length. I think he might be right, and here are five songs that clock in at that perfect length.

1. The Smiths - Sheila Take A Bow
2. Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better
3. Ted Leo & The Pharmacists - Criminal Piece
4. Weezer - American Gigolo
5. Sahara Hotnights - Hot Night Crash

2. The Mr. T Experience - Can't Get There From Here (R.E.M.)
3. Horace Pinker - Our Lips Are Sealed (Go-Go's)
4. The Hi-Fives - Tainted Love (Soft Cell, Gloria Jones)

64: Superchunk

I think I'm definitely in the minority for preferring Superchunk's later material to their earlier, punkier stuff. No matter -- here are five great songs from the pride of Chapel Hill.

1. Slack Motherfucker
2. Ribbon
3. Yeah, It's Beautiful Here Too
4. Her Royal Fisticuffs
5. European Medicine

63: Dub

Dub evolved out of reggae and is mainly instrumental remixes with additional echo and reverb effects. I don't know why I got so into dub -- maybe because it's kid-friendly music for around the house and easy to work to since they're instrumentals -- but I listened to an awful lot of it last year.

1. Sly & The Revolutionaries - Acapulco Gold
2. Prince Jammy - Shaolin Temple
3. Bob Marley - One Dub
4. Soul Syndicate - This Is The Greatest Version
5. King Tubby - Dub Magnificent
